Provincial parks offering four-season recreation, all within easy driving distance of Yorkton, are Good Spirit Lake Provincial Park, Duck Mountain Provincial Park, Greenwater Lake Provincial park and Wildcat Hill Provincial Wilderness Park.
Every winter, snowmobile enthusiasts converge on eastern Saskatchewan, where more than 500 kilometres of integrated snowmobile trails are maintained. Excellent resort and cabin accommodations are available in the area.
Our spring and summer seasons explode with activities from festivals and band concerts to exhibitions and sporting events. Some of the province's best swimming, fishing and boating lakes are nearby, particularly at Greenwater and Duck Mountain provincial parks.

You'll find challenging 18-hole courses within a half-hour's drive of Yorkton, including Deer Park Golf Course in Yorkton and York Lake Golf and Country Club just south of the city. All boast innovative course designs, fully equipped pro shops and licensed dining. For a shorter round, visit the Cherrydale Par 3 Executive Nine course 10 minutes southeast of the city.

Back in Yorkton, a piece of the original prairie is preserved, showing the wetlands and aspen bluffs that first met settlers more than a hundred years ago. Ideal for passive viewing and birdwatching, the city's ecological preserve is located within the city limits, and provides a quiet retreat for nature lovers.
